Tony Grisoni worked in many areas of the film industry before devoting himself to writing screenplays. QUEEN OF HEARTS (1989) was his first award-winning feature film, directed by Jon Amiel. French He has worked closely with a number of directors, including Michael Winterbottom (IN THIS WORLD – 2002, winner of the Berlinale Golden Bear), John Boorman, Sean Durkin (SOUTHCLIFFE – 2013) and Marc Munden, and co-wrote with Terry Gilliam (FEAR & LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS – 1998, TIDELAND – 2005 and THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUICHOTTE – 2018). RED RIDING (2009) was a television trilogy adapted from the Yorkshire Noir novels by David Peace. Directed by Julian Jarrold, James Marsh and Anand Tucker. THE UNLOVED (2009) was Samantha Morton’s directorial debut and won the BAFTA for Best TV Drama. Tony is also a writer and executive producer on a number of projects, including Paolo Sorrentino’s THE YOUNG POPE (2016) starring Jude Law, and THE CITY & THE CITY (2018), a 4-part BBC 2 drama based on the novel by China Mieville.
