Marc Marti est professeur à l’Université Côte d’Azur, où il dirige le laboratoire LIRCES (Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Récits, Cultures et Sociétés). Docteur en études ibériques (Université Jean-Monnet de Saint-Étienne, 1994), il est spécialiste de narratologie et de l’histoire des idées en Espagne du XVIIIe au XXIe siècle. Ses recherches portent sur les genres narratifs, les dispositifs sociotechniques de narration, et les applications aux nouveaux médias, notamment les jeux vidéo. Il est l’auteur de plusieurs ouvrages, dont Tension narrative et storytelling (L’Harmattan, 2013), et dirige la revue Cahiers de narratologie.
